What ID is required to hire something?
We require two forms of current ID confirming the hirers address. Generally a driver’s license along with either of the following. Utility Bill, Warrant Card, Bank Statement, but we do not accept Passports.
When does my hire start?
The hire will start from when you collect the item or from when it arrives on site.
How long is a day/weekend and week?
A day is 24hours from the start of the hire, a weekend is from late PM on a Friday and back before 9am on the Monday and a week is a 4 to 7 day hire period.
What does damage/loss waiver cover?
This covers the customer from accidental damage and loss from a secured site. (See T&C’s for more details)
Do I need a license to drive the machine?
Generally a license is required to use a machine on a construction site, but on private land you would not need one.
What are your opening times?
Our standard times are Monday to Friday 7.30am to 5pm and 8am to 12noon on Saturday.
Do you repair tools?
Not all of our depots repair tools in house but they all can arrange for it to be sent to our central repair depot for you.
Does the price include VAT?
All prices are subject to VAT, when viewing on the Sydenhams Hire Website, you can use the VAT Slider at the top of the home page, to show prices with or without as you prefer.
Can you order me something that you don’t stock?
We can always try to order in special sale items for you. You may be required to pay for these up front on occasions.
Can you hire in larger machines which you do not keep?
We are able to cross hire in from other suppliers, but only if you hold a trade account with us.
What type of fuel does our plant use?
All of our plant is run on White Desiel Only.
What happens if a vehicle gets a punctured tyre?
All punctures are the responsibility of the hirer and not covered by the damage loss waiver.
What is the environmental charge?
This is a small charge so we can dispose of any waste material which has been left on certain machines.
What is a wear charge?
Some of our items have grinding heads or blades which are not sold as a consumables, so a small charge is added to the hire cost to cover this wear.
