Damage Loss Waiver

Sydenhams Hire Centres Damage/Loss Waiver gives you more protection and more peace of mind with everything you hire.

The Damage/Loss Waiver is added at a rate of 15% of the cost of any hired item. This is a mandatory cost unless, of course, you have your own Hired-In Plant Insurance, either through your business or on a personal cover basis.

Evidence of insurance must be provided prior to any hire for the cost of this cover to be removed from any quote or invoice.

The conditions where the Damage/Loss Waiver will not apply are as follows:

• Damage relating to misuse or misadventure.
• Theft from a motor vehicle.
• Theft from an unsecured site.
• Damage from malice or any deliberate act.

Please note that tyre punctures are the responsibility of the hirer and will not be covered by the damage/loss waiver.

Stolen equipment must be notified to the branch and must include details of the notified police station, along with the crime reference number.

Please note: Claims could be rejected where inadequate preventative measures were not taken as shown above. Recovery charges incurred are not covered within the waiver scheme. 
All claims are subject to a customer excess payment. Excess is calculated at 10% of the total claim value, with a minimum excess of £100 and up to a maximum of £500.
